Looking for a place where you can keep up with your fitness routine after moving to Puerto Vallarta? There are plenty of very good local gyms and clubs throughout town, some which are open around the clock. These are a few that in the neighborhoods of this month’s featured properties.
A five-minute walk from Zoho City is Vallarta Fitness, located in Galerías Mall, across from where the cruise ships come in. It is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. After you finish your morning workout at Vallarta Fitness, grab a Frappacino at Starbucks, one floor above or, better yet, a cup of ice cream from Haagen Daz, just around the corner, also in Galerías Mall.
Further south, in the heart of the Hotel Zone, and a 10 minute walk from Zoho City, is La Isla Shopping Village, the home of Smart Fit. Smart Fit is open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. And, I think I may be seeing a trend here. La Isla is also home to Starbucks and Haagen Daz!
Less than one kilometer south you can find Anytime Fitness and CrossFit, which are both located in Plaza Caracol. Anytime Fitness is open around the clock. CrossFit is open from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. No Starbucks or Haagen Daz here, but you can finish your workout with an Egg McMuffin from McDonalds, or a Blizzard from Dairy Queen, both also located inside Plaza Caracol.
KALM 401 in 5 de Diciembre is within easy distance to Central Gym. It is one of the originals and is located on Morelos, just south of the iconic Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 pm. Starbucks and McDonalds are both one block south!
And rounding out our sampling of Vallarta gyms is The Fit Club, an easy walk from Indah. The Fit Club is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and is located just over the bridge as you enter the Romantic Zone. It is on street level and is part of the Rivera Molino condo property. And if like your workout early, come by between 7:30 and 8:30 to say hi. I am usually there for my routine Monday to Friday.
