The rainy season in Puerto Vallarta goes from about mid June to mid October. During this time we see the mountains and the vegetation turn from brown to green. We see the level of dust clear and everything just seems more vibrant and alive. I love watching the change and seeing the mountains come back to life. The rain is usually for about an hour or so most days in the afternoon. The storms are amazing to watch come in over the bay bringing with them torrential rains and a wonderful display of lightning and loud bangs of thunder. Many times making you jump from your seat. The streets flood and if you happen to be caught out in a storm, all you can do is take off your shoes and get wet. It is one of my favourite times here in Puerto Vallarta but it is also the hottest and most humid. Moving here from Canada the first summer was very hard but your body adjusts to the point we now think winter is cool here.
